The Micro Mount Extreme Range (MMER) Power Pack is compatible
with virtually any strobe. However, the type of strobe
emitter used does effect the operating performance. To
achieve the greatest operating distance, Priority Green
recommends that the MMER be combined with a PAR46, PAR36
or a RECT37 strobe emitter. This set-up will provide
an operating range of approximately 2500 feet. The use
of smaller, less efficient emitters will generally reduce
the range. Other factors that effect the operating range
include:
1. The positioning of the strobe emitter.
An unobstructed mounting location provides the best operating
range. Generally, the higher the strobe emitter is located
on a vehicle, the greater the operating range. Make sure
there are no physical obstructions blocking the strobe
emitter. For more information, see the installation
support page.
2. The strobe emitter must be mounted securely.
To ensure the best operation, the strobe emitter must
be mounted securely. A loosely mounted strobe will emit
inconsistent signals, causing a potential problem with
the traffic signal mounted receivers.
3. Do not use emitters rated for less than
20 watts. Low watt strobe emitters and miniature
dash or deck strobes, particularly those enclosed in
a plastic housing, should not be used. The MMER, especially
when used in Extreme Range Mode, provides
increased power per flash to strobe emitters that can
reduce the strobe life and could result in a potential
fire hazard.
